About Me
Shaman Kennel is located on an acreage just outside Hays, Kansas. We are a small operation dedicated to sharing our love of the Australian Shepherd breed with many people through many venues. I have been showing in conformation and obedience since 1980, but didn't begin showing Aussies until 10 years ago. I have had Aussies since I received my first Aussie from my husband in 1978, but as I had started showing AKC conformation and obedience with the Boxers, I didn't decide to make the change to Aussies until they became recognized by AKC in 1993. Since that time my entire focus has been dedicated to the Australian Shepherd breed.
Shaman Kennel is named in honor of my first AKC Champion, Ch. Foxfire's Medicine Man CD. Co-owned and co-bred with my late friend Connie Norris Baldwin. He was an almost prefect example of the Boxer breed in structure and temperament. I use him everyday as an inspiration to do as well with the Australian Shepherd.
